Paskra Tasks Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Paskra handles information in connection with Paskra Tasks (the "App"), its TaskDive integration, and official support pages.

1. Scope and operator

Paskra determines why and how information Paskra receives in connection with the App is handled. Privacy questions may be submitted through the Paskra contact form.

2. Information handled by the App

In response to user actions, the App handles:

3. Purposes and on-device storage

Information is used to manage tasks and branches, present the board, process dates and recurrence, schedule notifications, synchronize devices, import and export text, run focus sessions, and restore settings as requested by the user. The primary copy is stored in the App's container on the device and is managed under the device's data-protection features.

4. Clipboard, import, and export

The App reads text from the clipboard only when the user chooses Paste or Paste and Add. The text is used to add tasks in bulk, create branches, or import exported task text. The App does not continuously monitor the clipboard without user action.

When exported text is shared, the policy of the app or service the user selects as the destination applies.

4A. Widgets, Share Menu, and On-Device Handoff

The App uses a dedicated App Group, available only to the Paskra Tasks app and its Widget and Share extensions, as an on-device handoff area. The Widget receives only the minimal snapshot needed to render: editing access, relevant task identifiers and timing text, up to three due tasks, and an active focus identifier and planned end. Task and workspace names are handed to a Home Screen Widget only when the user enables that Widget setting, and are never handed to a Lock Screen Widget.

When the user adds from Safari, Photos, Files, selected text, the Action Button, Siri, or Shortcuts, the App may place a proposed task title, destination workspace identifier, source URL, and an image, PDF, or document explicitly selected by the user into the protected queue and temporary area in this dedicated App Group. The Share extension reads only workspace names and identifiers, the selected Inbox, and editing access; it does not directly modify CloudKit or the main task store. Each file is limited to 25 MB. The queue record and temporary copy are removed after the main app imports them successfully. Failed or pending items remain on the device for retry, and an unreferenced temporary copy becomes eligible for removal on a later app launch after it is more than 30 days old. This handoff content is not sent to a Paskra server or the TaskDive App Group.

4B. Notes, Links, Templates, Attachments, and Backups

Notes, links, templates, attachment metadata, and attachment files are stored in the App's protected area on the device. When iCloud synchronization is available, these records and files are synchronized through the user's private CloudKit database and private assets; they are not placed in a public or shared database and cannot be inspected by Paskra through the developer portal. Files and Photos access uses the system picker, and the App copies only items the user explicitly selects.

A full Paskra Tasks backup includes the task structure, context, templates, recently deleted items, synchronization markers, and available attachment copies in a package selected by the user. The App also creates a protected on-device automatic backup containing the same categories before bulk additions, plan changes, CloudKit migration, or full restoration. Automatic backups rotate at no more than five generations. Copies older than 30 days are removed at app launch or the next save, except that when every valid generation is older than 30 days, the newest valid recovery point remains until a newer valid backup replaces it or the user deletes all automatic backups in the App's data settings. A text export is a shareable outline and does not contain attachment files. After the user exports or shares either form, the storage location or destination app selected by the user applies its own privacy and retention rules. Neither form is uploaded to a Paskra server by the App.

4C. Planning Intelligence and personalization

Planning processes the goal, due date, answers, current task structure, change instructions, and extracted text from selected references on the device. The App uses Apple's Vision for image text recognition and bounded on-device readers for text and RTF documents. Planning does not read text from PDF files. PDFs remain available as task attachments and can be previewed with Quick Look. Only after the user permits the exact HTTPS origin and supplies a URL does the App connect to that website. The permission record stores only the scheme, host, and port; it does not store the path, query, or page body. Permissions can be removed individually or all at once in Planning Privacy. A redirect to another origin is not contacted until the user permits it. The response stops at 2 MB and extracts up to 8,000 characters needed for planning. The destination website receives ordinary connection information such as the IP address and applies its own policy. A Paskra server does not receive the web page body.

On supported devices, the App uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to propose plans; otherwise it uses on-device rules. The current version does not send goals, references, or task content to Paskra or a third-party generative-AI server. Generated plans and changes are proposals and are applied to tasks only after the user reviews and selects them.

The Personal Action Model (“Learn What Works for Me”) is optional, off by default, and enabled only after the user explicitly opts in. When enabled, it stores structural patterns such as task size, schedule choice, focus duration, and outcomes on the device, rather than task titles, notes, URLs, or attachment contents, and uses them to adjust later planning suggestions. A pattern is stored in the user's private CloudKit database only when the user explicitly selects Save This Pattern in iCloud for that pattern. Turning the feature off stops new learning and recommendations. Reset Personalization remains available while learning is off and deletes personalization data from both the device and its private CloudKit zone.

5. Notifications

When notifications are enabled, the App registers local iOS notifications based on task titles, scheduled dates, recurrence, and the notification time selected by the user. Focus-end notifications are also scheduled on the device. Show Task Names in Notifications and Live Activities is off by default. When it is off, ordinary task notifications, 10-minute reminder notifications, focus-end notifications, and Live Activities use generic text without the task name; when it is on, they may show a shortened task name. Identifiers used to open the relevant task and the 10-minute reminder action are processed only on the device. Notifications are not sent from a Paskra server. Permission and presentation can be changed in iOS Settings.

6. iCloud synchronization

When iCloud is available, the App uses the private CloudKit database associated with the user's Apple Account. Workspace, task, branch, completion, order, due-date, recurrence, task-notification, recently deleted, deletion-marker, and synchronization records are transferred through Apple so the App can keep devices using the same Apple Account consistent. By default, the user owns and can access this private database; its records are not visible to Paskra in the developer portal. Apple's private CloudKit database documentation, Privacy Policy, iCloud terms, and the user's iCloud settings apply.

To prevent a simultaneous edit from being silently lost, the App may retain the losing version as a private conflict-recovery record for up to 30 days. When upgrading from a version that synchronized the task envelope through iCloud Key-Value Store, the App creates protected recovery copies on the device, stops writing current task content back to that legacy store after verified migration, and keeps the legacy copy as a read-only recovery source for at least 90 days or two releases. A small migration-status record may remain in iCloud Key-Value Store.

The active focus session, focus history, recent focus durations, the Show Task Names in Notifications and Live Activities preference, board scope, layout, folding, position, and zoom, and ordinary personalization patterns remain on the device. A personalization pattern is synchronized to private CloudKit only when the user selects Save This Pattern in iCloud for that pattern. The App saves locally first and keeps its on-device task copy when iCloud is unavailable. If the Apple Account changes, the App asks whether to keep and merge the device copy or use the new iCloud copy instead of uploading it automatically. Paskra does not operate a server that receives task names, focus history, or tasks added during a focus session.

7. Focus sessions

Focus stores the selected task identifier, snapshots of its title and hierarchy, start and planned-end times, the duration in seconds, progress, end reason, and the result selected by the user on the device. The App keeps up to the 200 most recent completed or cancelled focus records and automatically removes older records. An active focus session is owned by the device where it started and does not automatically run simultaneously on another device.

8. TaskDive integration

When the user chooses to protect a focus session with TaskDive, the apps share request, session, and source-task identifiers, an optional task title limited to 200 characters, focus phase, start and end times, and protection results through an App Group available only to Paskra Tasks, TaskDive, and the TaskDive Screen Time extensions that handle shared protection state on the same device. To display protection readiness, Paskra Tasks reads the authorization status, whether a restriction selection is configured, whether normal intervention is armed, the TaskDive app version, and the readiness update time shared by TaskDive. The Shield Action extension writes only a timestamp valid for up to 30 seconds when opening TaskDive from a Shield; it does not read or write task identifiers, task titles, focus state, or usage history.

The in-app Delete TaskDive Integration Data action removes only protection requests created by Paskra Tasks from the App Group. It does not remove readiness or acknowledgement records managed by TaskDive, Screen Time settings, or data inside TaskDive. Paskra Tasks does not share the full workspace, full task tree, focus history, or iCloud data with TaskDive, and this integration information is not sent to a Paskra server.

9. App Shortcuts

When the user operates the App through Shortcuts, Siri, or another iOS feature, task and workspace names entered for that operation are used to perform it. Apple's policies for Shortcuts and Siri also apply to processing by those services.

10. Support and web communication

Support pages are hosted by Vercel Inc., and contact email is delivered using Resend, provided by Plus Five Five, Inc. The form handles an inquiry topic, email address, message, and an optional name. An email address and message are required for a response. Submission data and connection information such as an IP address may be processed in the United States or another country outside the user's residence.

Paskra uses the information to respond, provide product support, investigate defects or safety issues, prevent misuse, protect legal rights, and meet legal obligations. Legal bases, international transfers, and provider details are described in the Paskra Website Privacy Policy. Do not send task names, schedules, work, school, health, family, location, or other information that is not needed to answer the request.

11. Retention and deletion

Active task information remains on the device and in the user's private iCloud database until the user changes or deletes it. An unfinished plan draft and extracted reference text remain in a protected on-device draft until the user completes or discards the plan. Deleted tasks and workspaces remain in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days unless the user permanently deletes them sooner. Conflict-recovery records are retained for up to 30 days. Deletion markers may remain longer to prevent an older device copy from restoring deleted content. Full automatic backups rotate at no more than five generations. Copies older than 30 days are removed, except that when every valid generation is older than 30 days, the newest valid recovery point remains until a newer valid backup replaces it or the user deletes all automatic backups. All generations can be deleted together from Settings at any time. Personalization data remains until the user resets it; reset removes it from the device and the personalization private CloudKit zone.

Deleting the App removes its on-device data according to iOS behavior but does not by itself erase the user's private CloudKit data. Users can delete tasks and workspaces, permanently clear Recently Deleted, and manage Paskra Tasks's iCloud storage through Apple-provided iCloud settings. Deletions and other iCloud changes may reach devices using the same Apple Account at different times.

Paskra keeps support correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, preserve relevant context, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations, exercise legal rights, or resolve disputes, and then deletes or anonymizes information that is no longer needed. Provider records and backups may remain under each provider's retention criteria.

12. Third-party disclosure and processing the App does not perform

The App does not include advertising SDKs or third-party behavioral analytics. It does not sell task content, share it for targeted advertising, track users across apps, or make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Optional on-device personalization is used only to adjust the user's own planning and focus suggestions from that user's results; it is not used for advertising, credit, employment, insurance, or disclosure to third parties. Apple, TaskDive, a destination selected by the user, and support providers apply their own policies to information they process.

In-App Purchases and introductory-offer eligibility use Apple's StoreKit. Apple determines whether an offer can be redeemed, and the App verifies subscription entitlement on the device and stores the verified access status. Paskra operates no purchase server and does not receive payment-card details, the Apple Account email address, or payment information entered during purchase.

13. Your rights

Paskra cannot access information that remains only on the device or in the user's iCloud account. Users control it through the App and iOS or iCloud settings. Requests concerning information handled by Apple may be made through Apple's privacy channels.

For personal information included in a support inquiry, where applicable law grants these rights, users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent from Paskra. Submit the request through the contact form.

14. Security and children

Paskra uses safeguards appropriate to the nature and risk of the information, including limited collection, device data protection, HTTPS, and restricted access. The App is not intended to collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian may manage device and iCloud settings when appropriate.

15. Changes and contact

Paskra may update this Policy when features, providers, laws, or App Store requirements change. Material changes will be announced in the App or on an official page. Contact information is available on the Paskra Tasks Support page.
